You Released the Animal in Me

Not everyone who calls me becomes a client. Every one of them still gets my full attention. Every one of them has a story.

Most of the people I talk to have already found some version of success. Monetary. Professional. Emotional. Personal. They call me because they are ready to package what they have built and hand its lessons to someone else.

But I also talk with people who are still working it through. People who are not ready to be a customer, and may never be. They deserve the same respect, and I hear stories from them that are just as remarkable.

Yesterday, one of those calls turned into something more. She has an amazing story of her own, one she is eager to tell once she is ready to tell it. But first she laid out everything standing in her way, personal and financial, and none of it was small.

We talked it through, and I built her a plan. Not to turn her into a client. I wanted to help her through a hard moment, because sometimes all any of us need is a little lift at exactly the right time.

It worked. Once we walked through the plan together, she sprang to her feet and went into action right there on the call. She told me the reason she wanted to keep talking to me was that I listen, I understand, and I genuinely want to help. Then she went out and started executing immediately.

The last thing she said before hanging up was thank you, and then five words that stopped me: "You released the animal in me."

The potential was always hers. What changed was having a plan in hand and someone in her corner, cheering her on.

Five minutes before I sat down to write this, she called again. She had gone to that class. It went great.

You do not need my program to take your next step. You need someone who believes you already have what it takes.

Be that person for someone this week. Or find a person who can be there for you.
